Here we have a Viking/Norsespiral form amulet pendant from around the 8th to the 11th Century
many have been found in Ancient settlements especially in Northern Europe and here in the United Kingdom.
the spiral formamulet is Believed to represent the sea serpent Jormungand created by the Norse God Loki,
this example is cast in bronze using the very Ancient technique of sand casting and then carefully finished
by hand making each one unique.
the Amulet measures approximately 2.6cm wide by 3.7cm high and 0.35cm thickness,
with an additionalbronze suspension loop of approximately 0.13cm and weighs approximately 13 grams,
it also comes with a free waxed cotton adjusable necklace /cord which is of a generous length, if you so desire the cord can be simply untied
and trimmed to your own personal taste.
In the TV series The Last Kingdom you may have noticed
the Warrior Canut wearing such an amulet.
