-History of the mask/the Jester or joker is a mask that appears in Venice in 1970, the year in which the Venetian Carnival returns to its former glory after being interrupted during the Napoleonic (1700′) and Austro-Hungarian (1800′) dominations.
Formerly a symbol of transgression and pleasure-loving life typical of Venetian gaming halls during Carnival, it acquires ornamental and decorative use for homes as a lucky charm.
