Medieval pillbox hat, Men’s hat, diamond weave wool hat, reenactment, hand sewn, Herjolfsnes hat, Leens hat, Hedeby hat

This men’s pillbox hat is based on a hat found in Herjolfsnes, Greenland that has been dated to the 14th century. It is of a similar construction to hats found in Leens and Hedeby dating between the 7th and 10th centuries. This style of hat was worn from Roman times right through to the 15th century making it very versatile for a broad range of reenactment periods.

This hat has been entirely hand sewn out of lightweight brown and cream diamond weave pure wool fabric.
